Fonte Sacra di Su Lumarzu
The Sacred Source of su Lumarzu is located in Bonorva in the Rebeccu hamlet. The Monument, a small cult source of the Nuragic age, consists of an atrium and a cell where the spring vein is collected. The paved, rectangular atrium has seats on the walls and a niche. The masonry is made up of rows of basalt ashlars. From the atrium, through a trapezoidal light entrance you enter the cell. The small room has a "tholos" cover closed by a large horizontal slab. In the Christian age a Latin cross was engraved on the lower face of the closing plate. The water flows, through a channel engraved in the threshold of the entrance, at the source towards a drainage duct made under the flooring of the atrium itself. The frequented of the site continued until late antiquity, as evidenced by the coins of the fourth century. A.D. found during the cleaning of the vestibule.
