Description
The Pan di Zucchero is a wonderful limestone cliff that rises in front of the south west coast of Sardinia, in the inlet of Masua. This enchanting island has a rounded line and symbolizes, with its 133 meters of height, the Iglesiente coast. The name derives from the fact that its shape recalls the famous Sugar Loaf of Rio de Janeiro, and was attributed to it in the 1700s to replace the Sardinian one of "Concali su Terrainu". It is a stack of rare beauty, the highest in the Mediterranean, characterized by two arches that open access to the tunnel-shaped caves, accessible by boats, located at sea level.
