Description

The Maimoni beach is located on the southwestern coast of Sardinia, not far from the more famous one of Is Arutas, within the protected marine area of the Sinis peninsula. Two kilo meters of white sand, it presents a beautiful shade of color given by the mixture of fragments of white and pink quartz. Characterized by a sandy and shallow seabed, with some rocks at the ends of the beach, it slopes gently towards the open sea and is ideal for swimming and for children's playful activities. It is usually windswept and therefore very popular with kite surfing and windsurfing lovers. This suggestive coastline owes its name to the god of Sardinia mythology, water and rain, Maimone.
