The island of Molarotto is a rocky island that is part of the Tavolara archipelago south-east of Olbia, in north-eastern Sardinia. Inserted in the protected marine area of the same name, it has an area of a few tens of meters and consists of an outcrop of pink granite, very popular with seabirds, so much so that it changes color into white. Surrounded by a crystalline sea, however, it is forbidden to land on the island as it falls within the maximum protection range of the marine area.
