PASSENGERS AND LUGGAGE – LIST OF FORBIDDEN ITEMS

In compliance with PNSM – annex D

Subject to applicable security regulations, passengers are prohibited from carrying the following items in restricted areas of the facility and on board the vessel unless specifically authorised or for a valid reason:

a)  Fire weapons:

  • Firearms such as pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns;
  • Non-firearms, compressed air weapons with projectiles that deliver a kinetic energy greater than 7.5 joules;
  • Instruments that discharge projectiles – instruments capable or likely to be used to cause serious injury by discharging a projectile;
  • Parts of weapons.

b) Non-fire weapons:

  • Objects with a sharp point or a sharp edge – whose natural purpose is to harm a person, including daggers, stilettos, swords, sabres and the like (See art. 45 of the Implementing Regulation to the TULPS);
  • Instruments such as iron maces or iron-clad sticks, truncheons, knuckle dusters, electric stunners and other devices capable of delivering an electrocution (See art. 4 of Law 110/1975).

c) Sticks with a sharp tip, pointed or cutting instruments designed to offend, clubs, pipes, chains, slingshots, bolts, metal spheres

d) Metal objects reproducing weapons without a red cap

e) Asphyxiating and blinding gases, sprays capable of producing disabling or immobilizing effects, such as irritant sprays, tear gas, with the exception of sprays that nebulize a natural active ingredient based on oleoresin capsicum (chilly spray) and which have the ability to cause harm to a person (See Ministerial Decree 103/2011)

f) Explosives, blasting and incendiary products - explosive and incendiary substances and devices capable or appearing capable of being used to cause serious injury or to threaten security, including :

  • Ammunition;
  • Detonators and primers;
  • Detonators and fuses;
  • Reproductions or imitations of explosive devices;
  • Mines, grenades and other explosive military materials;
  • Fireworks and other pyrotechnic articles;
  • Smoke canisters and cartridges;
  • Dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives.
