General Requirements
Every child of any age must have a valid ID document with photo issued by his/her Country.
If children are not travelling with both parents showed in the child's ID document, before starting the trip it is strongly recommended to check Carrier terms and conditions.
Important - Domestic Departures
For domestic departure, if there are no parents' names on the child's ID, it's recommended to have some documents showing the relation child/parents.
Conditions by Carrier
For information purpose only we list some cases (please always refer to Carrier terms and conditions):
- Children under 14 years old: must be accompanied by a parent or another adult. Children must always be under adult's supervision. In no case the Carrier is liable for damages provoked by child.
- Children between 14 and 18 years old: can travel alone if they have a written authorization of parents/legal tutor on the carrier form.
- Children travelling without parents/legal tutor but with other adults: a written authorization undersigned by parents/legal tutor is necessary together with a copy of parents' ID document.

- Children under 14 years old: under no circumstances they can travel alone without the accompaniment of an adult. Furthermore, if the adult in question is not one of the 2 parents, a letter of trust is to be handed over to the Master of the vessel/Purser in which the parents declare that they entrust their child to the designated person, who will be responsible to all effects of the law. Valid identity documents of both parents must be attached to this letter. If they are people who come from outside the European Union, the parents' residence permit showing the details of the child must be attached thereto.
- Under aged passengers over the age of 14: will be allowed on board the ship provided that the Master of the vessel/Purser is given a release letter signed by both parents and attached identification documents of both parents indicating that the parents take full responsibility for any damage to people and/or caused to third parties. Under no circumstances shall the Master and/or other crew member take over the custody, and the consequent liability of the minor on board the ship. It is understood that the passenger is required to obtain all the necessary documentation required by the country of destination and the Carrier cannot be held liable if such documentation is considered insufficient by the Authorities in the port of destination.

- Passengers younger than 14: may not travel alone. When a minor travels outside the country with only one parent, written consent is required from the other parent and/or legal guardian.
- Passengers between 14 and 18 years of age: may travel alone provided they have written authority from the parent or guardian that releases the Carrier of all liability.

- Children under 14 years old: must have a valid ID document to travel abroad. If they are travelling with both parents but the names of the parents are not shown on the back of the minor's document, it is recommended to have a family status document with you that can demonstrate the minor's relationship with the parents.
- Minors under 14 years of age travelling with only one parent: must be in possession of a clearance on plain paper from the other parent including a copy of the identity document of the parent not participating in the trip.
- Minors under 14 years of age travelling with persons other than their parents: must be in possession of a clearance from the Questura for the dates included in the cruise itinerary and for the foreign countries included in the itinerary.
- Minors between the ages of 14 and 18 who travel with only one parent: must be in possession of a clearance on plain paper from the other parent including a copy of the identity document of the parent who is not participating in the trip.
- Minors between the ages of 14 and 18 who travel with persons other than their parents: must be in possession of a parental clearance on plain paper including a copy of the parents' identity document.
- Minors under 18: must always travel with an accompanying adult.
