Borealis is a cruise ship operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, built in 1997 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, and originally launched as Rotterdam VI for Holland America Line. She joined the Fred. Olsen fleet in 2020, sails under the Bahamas flag and underwent an interior refurbishment in 2025.
At 61,849 gross tons, 237.7 metres in length and 32.2 metres in beam, she accommodates up to 1,360 passengers in around 700 cabins spread across 10 decks, looked after by a crew of over 600. On board there are six restaurants, eleven bars and lounges, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, a spa area and a gym.
Thanks to a higher cruising speed than the other ships in the fleet, Borealis is mainly deployed on long-haul itineraries and world cruises.
