Planning your trip

Prior going to the port it can be useful to take some notes about check-in and boarding procedures.

For informational purposes only, here there are some useful pieces of information (please refer to updated terms and conditions of your Carrier).

Required Documents

Every passenger (including newborn) must have:

  • Personal ID document with picture issued by the passenger's Country
  • Travel ticket (ticket, ship card or other documents)

IMPORTANT - Cruise Ships

For passengers boarding on cruise ships please verify that the ID document is valid for the full duration of the cruise itinerary.

BE AWARE: some Cruise Companies require an extended validity after the expected date of termination of the itinerary. Please, verify terms and conditions of your reservation.

BE AWARE: if you are boarding a Cruise Ship, please verify that the ID document is valid to go abroad.

Recommended Arrival Times

It's recommended to arrive in the port at least:

BE AWARE: the departure time reported on the Cruise Company APP is usually referred to the onboard time for passengers that don't start their cruise from Olbia.

Access Procedures

Access with Vehicle

Vehicles are usually allowed in the port restricted area 4 hours before the expected time of departure. Variations can apply based on port operations.

Please check updated schedule on the port website.

Passengers with vehicles waiting on the dock can walk inside the terminal Stazione Marittima taking with them ID document and travel ticket (please check section "terminal services").

Access without Vehicle

Passengers without vehicles can access the port restricted area only when boarding operations begin.

BE AWARE - Boarding Operations Closure

  • Boarding operations for commercial ship lines usually close 30 minutes before the expected time of departure.
  • Boarding operations for cruise lines usually close more than 3 hours before the expected time of departure.

Security Controls

Every passenger must clear security controls. Every passenger has to show ID document and travel ticket.

Some passengers will also randomly be chosen for more detailed inspections.
