The pettacolari Grotte del Bue Marino located in the municipality of Dorgali on the eastern coast of Sardinia, owe their name to the Sardinia appellation with which the shepherds called the monk seal "Su Oe 'e Mare, a marine mammal that has now disappeared from the area. used the ravines of the cave for the weaning of their puppies. Since the fifties, one of the major attractions of the Gulf of Orosei and in particular of Cala Gonone. The majestic entrance to the cave is formed by two arches overlooking the sea, three kilo meters away from the spectacular Cala Luna. The sea cavities are fifteen kilo meters long divided into two main branches: the north branch that has become fossilized due to the ceased  activity is not accessible; the south branch about nine hundred meters long can be visited thanks to equipped and illuminated routes . Inside the cave the sea water penetrates and numerous freshwater lakes feed by underground rivers emerge. Historical ortanza the esoteric rock carvings dating back to the Middle Ages. Absolute uniqueness is the celebration held every year, inside the cave, of a spectacular concert on the occasion of "Cala Gonone Jazz". The Caves can be reached by boat from the ports of Cala Gonone, Abatax, La Caletta, Orosei and Santa Maria Navarrese.
