Cattedrale Santa Maria della Neve

Santa Maria della Neve is the Cathedral of the city of Nuoro. It was born in the homonymous square and is dedicated to the Madonna della Neve, patron saint of Nuoro, whose cult is linked to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. It is built in neoclassical style, the façade has 4 imposing semi-columns in granite and Ionic capitals. Inside you can admire the vast barrel-vaulted nave where a canvas is exhibited, for a long time attributed to Alessandro Tiarini, a seventeenth-century painter, which depicts the dead Christ.
