Description

The Church of Sant'Efisio stands on a limestone cave located in the city of Cagliari, in southern Sardinia. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it was built over what tradition wanted to be the prison where Sant'Efisio was held and tortured before being brought to Nora to be beheaded. From the Stampace Alto district, every May 1st the largest procession in the whole region starts.
