Description
The Island of Caprera is located in the north-eastern part of Sardinia and is part of the Maddalena Archipelago, the two islands are connected between them with a bridge. Sparsely populated, most of the inhabitants live in the village of Stagnali. It is an area of maximum environmental protection, especially the marine area in front of the Punta Rossa area. Granite in nature, it has numerous woods with sandy coves alternating with cliffs overlooking the sea. It is known above all for being the last residence and the place of death of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The famous "White House" was built, which has now become a museum. The best known beaches are those of Cala Coticcio, Cala Napoletana, Cala Caprarese and Cala Brigantina.
