Description

The Punta Nera beach located on the fascinating Island of San Pietro, in the municipality of Carloforte, in southern Sardinia, is composed of almost white, very soft sand, divided in the center by an artificial arm composed of quadrangular rocks presumably built to preserve the sand from currents and storm surges. The sea has a very shallow and sandy bottom, with colors ranging from green, turquoise and blue. Absent the posidonia, it appears to be on average crowded in the summer months. Sheltered from the wind, surrounded by gardens of private houses and vegetation, it overlooks the island of Sant’Antioco offering a beautiful panorama. The beach can also be reached by people with reduced mobility, thanks to a platform that slopes down from the road to the beach.
